The results from the Referendum show that more than half of those voting in the Referendum have voted in favour of South Cambridgeshire District Council using the Harston Neighbourhood Plan to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area.

95.86% (301 votes recorded) voted in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan and 4.14% (13 votes recorded) for against.

22.36% (315 out of 1409 people) on the Electoral Register turned out to vote.

The Neighbourhood Plan we be taken to the S Cambs Full Council meeting on the 2nd of October where a decision will be taken for the plan to be ‘made’ (adopted). However, now that the Plan has been through Referendum, it already gains very significant weight (moving from significant weight) in determining planning applications.

The Neighbourhood Plan working Group has now been disbanded and the parish council will now be responsible for ensuring the policies and proposals in the Neighbourhood Plan are successful. They will be monitoring the progress of the Neighbourhood Plan policies and will have an annual review of its progress.
